Pre-Procedure Instructions (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)
- Avoid blood thinners
Avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Motrin or Advil, or any other blood thinners for at least 1 week before your appointment unless prescribed by your physician
- Avoid certain herbal supplements such as gingko biloba, fish oil, and vitamin E for at least 1 week before your appointment, as they may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising
- Avoid alcohol
Refrain from drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment as alcohol may increase your risk of bruising/swelling
- Avoid facial treatments
Avoid other facial treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments for at least 1 week before treatment to avoid irritation or skin complications

Minimize sun exposure and use sunscreen to protect your skin from potential sunburn, which can increase sensitivity and the risk of adverse reactions

Post-Procedure Instructions (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)

Do not wear any makeup for 24 hours after procedure to reduce the risk of infection and irritation
- Remain upright
Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment, do not lie flat
- Avoid exercise and heat
Refrain from vigorous exercise and saunas for 24 hours after treatment
- Avoid direct pressure
Avoid applying direct pressure to the treated areas for up to 2 weeks, i.e. no massages or facials for 2 weeks
Pre-Procedure Instructions
- Schedule your treatment to allow 3-5 days for redness, possible bruising, and flaking.
- Avoid face irritants (e.g., retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, Vitamin C) for 7 days before treatment.
- Contact us 24 hours in advance to reschedule if your skin is irritated or you have skin conditions like psoriasis or cystic acne.
- Postpone treatment if you have cold sores, canker sores, or shingles. If prone, contact us a week in advance for recommendations.
- Do not schedule if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or undergoing chemotherapy/radiation. Wait 6 months after remission.
- Microneedling can be done before Botox®/Dysport® on the same day but not after. Wait 24 hours before Botox® if you’ve had microneedling.
- If you had a Botox®/Dysport® treatment, wait 2 weeks to book your microneedling appointment.
- Inform your clinician of all medical conditions, medications, skin disorders, and allergies.
- Tylenol® is safe and preferred for pain relief before treatment.
- Postpone microneedling for 6 months if you’ve recently taken Accutane®.
- Men should shave 24 hours before treatment.
- Best results are achieved with 3-6 microneedling sessions.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Keep your skin moisturized for 24 hours. Use recommended products, and avoid makeup and cleansers.
- Skin may feel sunburned or tight; this subsides by the next day, and redness resolves in 3 days.
- Avoid exercise for 48 hours to prevent irritation.
- After 3-5 days, resume gentle skincare, avoiding strong products like retinols or acids for 5-7 days.
- Flaking may occur after 3-5 days; do not pick at it. Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers until it resolves. Dermaplaning can be done after 5-7 days to exfoliate.
- Makeup can be applied after 24-48 hours; mineral makeup is best.
- Always wear SPF 30+ after treatment, but avoid sun exposure for the first 48-72 hours when you can’t apply sunscreen.

Pre-Procedure Instructions
- Avoid chemical peels, waxing, electrolysis, laser treatments, and threading.
- Discontinue blood-thinning supplements (e.g., vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginkgo, Garlic, Flaxseed, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids, and multivitamins) at least 7 days (preferably 14) before your treatment. Vitamin D and iron can be continued.
- Inform your provider if you are on blood thinners like Plavix, Coumadin, or Heparin, as they may not be suitable for PRP.
- Steer clear of aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and other anti-inflammatory medications to allow inflammation, which helps PRP work.
- Tylenol (acetaminophen) is acceptable for pain relief before the procedure.
- Continue prescription medications as prescribed up to and after the day of treatment.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure or heat prior to treatment.
- 7 days before, avoid topical products like Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Glycolic Acid, and other anti-aging or acne products. Avoid waxing, tweezing, or hair removal creams in the treatment area. Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher).
- Microneedling can be done before Botox®/Dysport® on the same day but not after. Wait 24 hours before Botox® if you’ve had microneedling.
- If you had a Botox®/Dysport® treatment, wait 2 weeks to book your microneedling appointment.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Expect some discomfort, redness, or irritation, resembling a sunburn, which should subside within 24 hours. Bruising at the blood draw site may occur.
- For pain, take Tylenol (acetaminophen) and use cold compresses for swelling if needed. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen or Advil.
- Light scabbing may form but should resolve in 24-48 hours. Do not pick or scratch treated skin; keep it moisturized.
- Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, heat, and hot environments for at least 24 hours. Use clean towels and linens, and limit contact with pets or children for the first 12-24 hours. Disinfect phones and use hands-free options to avoid contact with treated skin.
- Continue to avoid anti-inflammatory medications for up to 7 days if possible. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer for 72 hours, and wear sunscreen daily. Avoid warm environments (e.g., hot tubs, saunas) for 3 days.
- Skin may feel dry by day 2-3 but should improve. Resume skincare products and makeup once irritation subsides, typically after 4-5 days. Expect ongoing improvements over the next 3 months, with optimal results seen after 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.
Pre-Procedure Instructions
- The week before the procedure, avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and NSAIDs. Stop taking ANY blood thinners, anticoagulants, herbs, supplements, or vitamins that thin the blood.
- Drink plenty of water, eat nutritious meals.
- If you’re taking broad beta-blockers like Inderal (Propranolol), consult your doctor as this may need to be switched to a selective beta-blocker before the treatment.
- Avoid or limit smoking for three days before and one day after treatment. Smoking can affect healing and oxygen delivery to the scalp, and your results may improve with longer periods of not smoking.
- Continue taking any prescribed medications, including heart or blood pressure meds, as usual, both before and after the treatment.
- Try to reduce alcohol intake the day before your PRP treatment.
- Shower the morning of your treatment and wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo. Do not apply sprays, gels, or any other styling products to your hair. If you wear a hair system, please remove it prior to shampooing and do not wear it before your PRP treatments.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Avoid intense exercise, sun exposure, and heat for at least 2 days post-treatment.
- Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after the procedure.
- Avoid applying any hair products for at least 6 hours after treatment.
- Steer clear of saunas, steam rooms, and swimming for 2 days following your procedure.
- Use a pH-balanced shampoo for the first 3 days.
- Wait 3 days before using Minoxidil (Formula 82M, Rogaine®), or before coloring or straightening your hair.
- Drink plenty of water during the first week after your treatment.
- Refrain from alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days, as smoking can delay healing and affect results.
- For the first 8 hours, avoid touching, pressing, or rubbing the treated area.
- Do not use ice on the treated area, as inflammation is part of the healing process.
- Tylenol or Acetaminophen can be taken as directed for any discomfort.
- Please avoid Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naprosyn, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids (EPA, DHA) for at least 1 week before and 2 weeks after the treatment, as these reduce necessary inflammation.
- Bruising, redness, itching, swelling, or soreness are normal for 2-5 days post-treatment.

Pre-Procedure Instructions
- Three weeks before the procedure, you should stop using any steroid medications.
- The week before the procedure, avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and NSAIDs. Stop taking ANY blood thinners, anticoagulants, herbs, supplements, or vitamins that thin the blood. Consult your doctor if you’re unsure about any of your medications or supplements.
- The Day Before the procedure, drink plenty of water, eat nutritious meals, and rest well.
- The day of the procedure, keep hydrated and eat a full, healthy meal.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Avoid sun exposure and saunas and working out for 24 hours.
- For the first 8 hours: Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the injection site.
- Avoid bathing, showering, or swimming for 8 hours after treatment.
- Do not take any medications, vitamins, or supplements unless approved by your podiatrist. This includes herbs, pain relievers, and even marijuana or CBD. Tylenol may be allowed for pain relief.
- Avoid using ice or heat on the injection site for 3 days after the procedure.
- Do not apply lotions, oils, or makeup to the injection area for 6 hours.
- Refrain from intense physical activities and exercise for 3 days after the injection.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 3 days, as both can slow healing, and smoking may reduce treatment effectiveness.
- Stay hydrated and eat healthy, nutritious meals.
- You may experience tenderness, swelling, and redness at the injection site after your treatment. You may even experience bruising. These symptoms could persist for 7-10 days post-procedure. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or change or do not start to go away after 10 days.
Pre-Procedure Instructions
Hydration: Drink plenty of water before the VO2 Max, Lung Testing, and Body Composition exams.
Avoid Intense Exercise: Refrain from strenuous activity for 24 hours prior to the tests to avoid elevated results in VO2 Max or resting metabolic rate.
No Caffeine or Nicotine: Avoid caffeine and nicotine at least 4 hours before your appointment, as these can affect heart rate and test results.
Medication Disclosure: Inform the medical team of any medications or supplements you are currently taking during the Medical History Evaluation.
Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing and running shoes for the ECG, VO2 Max, and lung testing. You may be asked to change into a medical gown for some tests.
Post-Procedure Instructions
You can continue your daily life.
Cool down with light activities and stretching immediately after the test.
Rehydrate to replenish fluids lost during the test.
Monitor your body for any unusual symptoms like dizziness or chest pain.

Medication Disclosure: Inform your provider of any medications or supplements you’re taking, especially blood thinners, anti-inflammatories, or pain relievers.
Avoid Anti-Inflammatories: Refrain from taking NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) for 24 hours prior to the procedure unless instructed otherwise, as these may interfere with the body’s natural healing response.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment.
Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.
Post-Procedure Instructions (Trigger Point Injection, Steroid Joint Injection, Shockwave Therapy, Dry Needling)
Rest the Treated Area: Avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting involving the treated area for at least 24 hours.
Ice Therapy: Apply ice packs to the treated area to reduce swelling or discomfort, but avoid heat during the first 24 hours.
Hydration: Continue to drink plenty of water to aid in muscle recovery and toxin removal after dry needling or trigger point therapy.
Pain Management: You may experience mild soreness after treatment. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) if needed but avoid NSAIDs for at least 24-48 hours after treatment to allow for healing.

No heavy meals within 2-3 hours of testing; a light snack is fine.
Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive water right before testing.
Wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes suitable for exercise.

Pre-Procedure Instructions
- The preparation required before treatment is minimal but it is suggested that any retinol product should be discontinued 3 days before treatment.
- Inform your provider before treatment if you have any skin allergies or have an active breakout.
- You cannot get a facial if you have an active cold sore.
- If you have recently used the medication Accutane®, it is recommended to postpone treatment until at least six months after stopping the medication.
- Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved 24 hours before treatment.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Immediately following the Sports MedSpa facial, skin may be slightly pink in color depending on the individual’s skin sensitivity. Your skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness.
- The skin is more susceptible to sunburn/sun damage. Make sure to wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 + and you can begin using your normal product routine the following day.
Pre-Procedure Instructions
If you’ve started any antibiotics or other medications since your initial visit, please let us know.
- Do not schedule this procedure if you are pregnant, think you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
- Patients actively undergoing chemo or radiation treatment cannot be treated. Patients must be in remission for 6 months to be treated.
- If you have an active cold sore/fever blister, canker sore, shingles you will need to postpone treatment. If you are prone to developing cold sores/fever blisters or shingles, please contact us 1 week before treatment for medical recommendations.
- Discontinue any active ingredient products 7-10 days prior to chemical peel.
- Do inform your clinician of all medical conditions, medications you are taking, skin disorders, allergies, history of anaphylaxis, and any other medical problems.
- Although you will see some results after 1 chemical peel, for best results we recommend a series of 3-6 chemical peels.
- For better penetration of the chemicals in the peel consider a dermaplane prior to your chemical peel. Not all peels actually cause peeling on everyone. This does not mean it is not working or that you are not receiving the benefits from your peel.
- The Sports MedSpa team of Master Aestheticians can help you develop a daily skin care regimen as well as an overall plan of care for your skin.
- If you have recently used the medication Accutane®, it is recommended to postpone treatment until at least six months after stopping the medication.
- Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved 24 hours before treatment.
Refrain from the following:
- Do not get Botox® or dermal fillers 24 hours before a peel. However, you can have a chemical peel and then Botox® on the same day.
- Avoid any irritants (such as retinol, retinoid, glycolic, salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, alpha or beta hydroxy acids, astringents, and Vitamin C) to your face for 7 days before treatment. If your skin is irritated please contact our office at least 24 hours prior to the appointment to reschedule.
- Do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams such as Nair®.
- Avoid artificial tanning and sun exposure 2 weeks prior to scheduled treatment.
Post-Procedure Instructions
Day 1:
- Do not apply anything to the skin.
- Skin will look sunburned and feel tight.
- Itching or mild burning is normal; take Benadryl®/Zyrtec® for itching, Aspirin/Tylenol® for discomfort.
- Avoid makeup and tight glasses for 3 days.
- Avoid Chemical Sunscreens – use physical sunscreens that contains zinc and titanium oxide.
Day 2:
- Skin feels tight and dry, like an uneven sunburn.
- Flaking may begin around eyes, mouth, and nose.
- Rinse with cool water, use fingertips only, no cleansers/moisturizers.
- Apply ZO Hydrating Creme if irritated.
- Avoid Chemical Sunscreens – use physical sunscreens that contains zinc and titanium oxide.
Day 3:
- Peeling and flaking increase. Do not pick at skin.
- Use manicure scissors to clip loose skin.
- Begin gentle cleanser and hydrating cream.
- Avoid sun, retinoids, acids, and makeup.
- Avoid Chemical Sunscreens – use physical sunscreens that contains zinc and titanium oxide.
Day 4:
- Peeling continues. Cleanse and moisturize.
- Uneven peeling is normal.
Day 5:
- Skin may be tender. Exfoliate gently if needed.
- Avoid sun for two weeks. Start using SPF if tolerated. ASK your provider abour ZO Mineral Sunscreens.
Day 6:
- Gradually return to your regular skincare routine.

Pre-Procedure Instructions
Please inform us prior to your treatment if:
- You’re using any topical or oral medications for your face
- You have any skin allergies
- You have or are prone to developing cold sores. You cannot be treated if you have a cold sore.
- You have an active breakout.
Post-Procedure Instructions
- Immediately after your treatment, your skin may be sensitive for a few minutes. After this, you will notice smooth, glowing skin. However, you will still need to provide a bit of extra care for your skin for the first few days.
- Your provider will inform you on which products to continue to use post dermaplane. Your skincare products will penetrate more effectively after your dermaplane.
- You can get a chemical peel and Botox® and Filler right after a Dermaplane Treatment. But you cannot do Botox®/Fillers or a Chemical peel and then do a dermaplane on the same day.
- Avoid swimming, intense workouts, and saunas for 2 days post treatment.
- Limit sun exposure for the first 3 days after your treatment and use a mineral-based sunscreen.
- Use a gentle skin cleanser within the first 3 days after treatment.
- Do not wax within the first week after your treatment.
- If the area peels or flakes, do not pick or scrub, the dead skin will exfoliate naturally.
Pre-Procedure Instructions

- Wear a compression garment to help with swelling and the lymph drainage process
